What is the difference between a Signature Collection print and a custom original ketubah?
Archival Pigment Prints (Signature Collection)
- Created from an original hand-painted artwork, carefully scanned and color-matched for accuracy.
- Printed with archival pigment inks on archival 100% cotton paper.
- Rich in color and detail, with a soft matte finish that closely resembles the original artwork.
- Each print is carefully proofed to ensure fidelity to the original design.
- Ideal for couples looking for timeless, ready-to-frame artwork with a shorter turnaround.
Original Hand-Painted Ketubot
- Painted by hand in acrylic gouache or watercolor on archival 100% cotton paper.
- Each ketubah is a one-of-a-kind artwork painted by hand.
- A perfect choice for couples who want a deeply personal work of art, customized to their story or wedding vision.
- Because each piece is painted by hand, they take longer to create but offer a truly unique work of art to treasure for generations.
Can I choose my own text and language?
Yes! When you select your ketubah design, you’ll also choose your text type (Orthodox, Reform, Conservative, or Custom) and your preferred language (Hebrew, English, or bilingual).
A $25 fee applies for personalization and custom text changes.
What does “personalization” mean?
Personalization means we add your names, wedding date, and details directly into the ketubah before printing.
- After checkout, we’ll email you a form to collect your details based on your chosen text type and language.
- Your ketubah will be left blank for your officiant to fill in — but you’ll still receive an email to review and approve the text before printing.
A $25 fee applies for personalization and custom text changes.
What about translations and rabbinic approval?
All ketubah texts must be reviewed and approved by your officiant or Rabbi. We are happy to communicate directly with them to ensure everything is correct and meets your community’s requirements. We do not currently offer in-house translation services, but we’re happy to incorporate a translated version provided by you or your officiant.
What is the timeline for orders?
- Print Ketubot: Delivered within 3 weeks of proof approval.
- Semi-Custom Ketubot (Prints with custom accents): Allow 3-6 weeks after text approval.
- Custom Original Ketubot (Hand-painted): Allow 4–8 weeks, depending on design complexity.
We recommend ordering your ketubah at least 6–8 weeks before your wedding to allow for proofing, production, and shipping time.

What is the text approval process?
- At checkout, choose your text type (Orthodox, Reform, Conservative, or Custom), language (Hebrew, English, or bilingual), and whether you’d like personalization.
- If personalizing, you’ll first receive an email form to collect your names, wedding date, and details.
- All customers then receive a digital text proof to review and approve it within 3 business days to avoid delays in printing and shipping.
- We recommend reviewing your proof with your rabbi or officiant before final approval.
What customization options are available?
- Collection Prints with Custom Text:
Select a print from our hand-painted collections and choose your text type (Orthodox, Conservative, or Reform) and language (Hebrew, English, or bilingual). You may also select Custom Text if you’d like to provide your own wording ($25 fee). After purchase, we’ll follow up by email to collect your custom text and send you a digital proof for approval before printing. - Collection Prints with Personalized Text:
Add your names, wedding date, and details directly into your chosen ketubah text instead of leaving it blank for your officiant. A $25 personalization fee applies. After checkout, we’ll email you to collect your information and send a digital proof for approval before printing. - Semi-Custom:
Select a print from our existing hand-painted collections and customize it further with options such as hand-painted embellishments, gold or silver leaf accents, or textured paper. - Full Custom Commissions:
Collaborate with us to create a fully original hand-painted ketubah based on your story, wedding theme, or meaningful symbols.

What is a semi-custom ketubah and how does it work?
A semi-custom ketubah starts with one of our Signature Collection designs and transforms it into something uniquely yours. It’s the perfect balance between ready-made and fully custom: you enjoy the artistry of our hand-painted originals, with the flexibility to add personal touches that make the design feel one-of-a-kind. This option offers a meaningful, elevated ketubah at a more accessible price and a quicker turnaround than a fully custom commission.
Semi-custom orders are completed within 3–6 weeks after proof approval.
What pen should we use to sign the ketubah?
We recommend using archival-quality pigment pens, such as Micron or Sakura Pigma pens for clean, long-lasting signatures. Avoid using fountain pens, gel pens, or Sharpies, as these can smudge or bleed into the paper.
What is your cancellation and return policy?
Please read our Terms & Conditions, which outlines our return policy.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes! We currently ship within the US and to Canada, the UK, the EU, and Israel. All international orders are shipped DDU (Delivered Duty Unpaid), which means local duties, import taxes, and customs fees are not included in your order total. These charges are determined by your country’s customs office and are the responsibility of the recipient upon delivery.
Do you offer free shipping?
Yes! We offer free shipping on all orders within the US. For international orders, shipping rates are calculated at checkout, and we currently ship under the DDU (Delivered Duty Unpaid) system. This means customs duties, VAT, and import taxes are not included in your order total and must be paid by the recipient upon delivery. Tracking is provided for all shipments, and expedited shipping is available at checkout or upon request (additional fees apply).
How do I care for my ketubah?
- Handle with clean, dry hands.
- Carefully open your package and avoid touching the printed or painted surface.
- Store and display in a dry, cool place away from direct sunlight.
- Use acid-free matting and UV-protected glass for framing.
- Frame your ketubah in a high-quality frame to protect and showcase the artwork, this not only enhances the beauty of your piece but helps ensure it lasts for generations.
- Avoid areas with high humidity or dramatic temperature changes, such as kitchens, bathrooms, or near heating/cooling vents.
Do you offer framing?
We do not currently offer framing services, but we recommend taking your ketubah to a trusted local framer. A professional framer can help you select materials and colors that beautifully highlight the details and palette of your ketubah, and ensure it is preserved with archival-quality materials. Be sure to use acid-free matting and UV-protective glass to keep your ketubah safe for years to come.
What is a ketubah?
A ketubah is a Jewish marriage contract—both a legal document and a meaningful piece of art. Traditionally written in Aramaic, it outlines the couple’s commitments and is signed before the ceremony. Today, many couples religious, secular, or interfaith use a ketubah to honor tradition and express their shared values. At Storied Ink, each ketubah blends heritage with visual storytelling to create lasting, personal keepsakes.
